When to Visit Yala National Park

Yala is Sri Lanka's most famous national park and has one of the highest leopard densities in the world. The dry season from February to July offers the best sightings as animals concentrate around water sources and vegetation thins. The park closes each September for maintenance, and the northeast monsoon from October to December brings heavy rain.

Peak Season February - July
