What to Pack for Ranthambore National Park

🌤 Hot and dry. Peak season (Mar–Jun): 35–48°C. Winter (Oct–Feb): 10–28°C. Monsoon Jul–Sep (park closed).

Ranthambore is all about extremes — blisteringly hot days in peak tiger season and pleasantly cool winter mornings. Safari vehicles are open canters or jeeps, so sun protection is paramount. Dress in earthy colours to blend in, and carry plenty of water. Mornings start very early (5:30 AM), so layers for the cool dawn are important in winter months.

Comfortable trousers or shorts Essential

What to Pack for Ranthambore National Park FAQ

Pack light, breathable clothing for extreme heat, a wide-brimmed hat, strong sunscreen, and plenty of water bottles. Mornings can be cool from November to February.

Comfortable closed-toe shoes are sufficient as you remain in the jeep throughout the safari. No hiking is involved in standard game drives.

A 200 to 500mm telephoto lens is ideal for tiger photography at distance. The open-top jeep provides good shooting angles. Bring a dust cover for your gear.

Lightweight, neutral-coloured clothing works best. No specific dress code is required. Cover your head and arms for sun protection during open-jeep drives.
